Boiler Rebuild - CHH Tasman

OVERVIEW

ISS was contracted by RCR to supply rigging labour and equipment to assist in the disassembly and rebuild of the No 2 recovery boiler at the Tasman site in Kawerau. This involved fitting temporary seismic bracing to the structure to allow us to remove one side of the building so the boiler could be rigged out in sections weighing up to 20t. Air winches and a temporary gantry crane were installed to transfer the boiler sections into and out of place. The lower 120t section was skated into place and lowered onto its new foundation using hydraulic jacking.
