Intake Hood Replacement

Overview

During an annual shutdown, ISS was engaged to manufacture, transport and install new filter intake hoods on the gas turbine at the Otahuhu B Powerstation. This involved transporting the new 6.5 x 5 over-dimensional hood assemblies from Hamilton to Auckland, removing existing hoods and installing the new hoods. Pre-shut preparation was the key to achieving this project within the tight time frames, as the gas turbine could not be operational until the project was completed.
